Manifest a new world – Aug 2026

Lions Gate Portal: 8/8/26

So we have this amazing workshop coming up on Saturday 8/8/26, 2 – 5pm at the Zamia Theatre. MT Tamborine. Hop onto the website to book: https://www.yogaunderthebodhitree.com.au/yoga-events/

We are practicing Rebirthing Breathwork and at the same time tuning into the energy the Lions Gate. A portal of time where we can step into the big, confident energy of 15 degrees Leo. An astrological and numerical event considered massively powerful to manifest abundance and prosperity.

What does abundance and prosperity look like to you? On its simplest level prosperity means enough financial security so that you can lead a good life and where all your needs are taken care of. We all need money and financial security, but abundance and prosperity is not just money. True wealth can mean more time and freedom – having the space to choose how you spend your days and direct your energy. Better health and vitality – a strong body and clear mind that let you experience the world fully. More love and connection – friends, family, and community who offer genuine support and belonging. And a sense of peace and purpose – an inner calm and a clear sense of meaning that quiet daily worry.

We live in a world of billionaires and trillionaires who can do what they like, and they influence governments, world policy and world media. And right now, we live in this world of insatiable greed.  According to Oxfam, the COVID-19 pandemic created 573 new billionaires during its first two years, averaging out to one new billionaire every 30 hours. At the same rate, roughly one million people were pushed into extreme poverty every 33 hours. And this surge included individuals profiting from vaccine manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food, and tech sectors that boomed during lockdowns. The greatest transfer of wealth from the common man to the rich elite. We should be outraged. But 5 years later, this wrong has quietly been forgotten.

We have a term in Buddhism for this state of affairs: it’s called “the realm of hungry ghosts.” In Buddhist cosmology, the hungry ghost figures are depicted with scrawny little necks and huge bellies – riddled with powerful desires they can never really satisfy. This realm can be thought of either as a temporary state of mind (infatuation, a compulsive desire for a new car) or it can be an engrained life-pattern: your life is run by addictive cycles whether it’s shopping, social media, social prestige, or probably the most socially acceptable addiction: workaholism. Other cultures such the Algonquin (Indigenous people from Canada) talk of the Wetiko; which is a cannibalistic spirit, an insatiable greed, and a psychospiritual “mind-virus” that drives people toward selfish consumption and destructive behaviour.

And the hungry ghosts of the world stage have now purchased the rights to basic necessities: water, food, seeds, land, oceans, air and sunlight. Prominent figures, including Bill Gates, have purchased vast acreage overlying major water basins and aquifers in regions like the American West and Funds (such as Canada’s PSP Investments) hold significant portions of foreign-owned water entitlements in active trading markets like Australia. Agrochemical giants (including Bayer/Monsanto) control a major portion of the global commercial seed and chemical market, focusing on high-yield hybrid and GMO monocultures.

So how can this little event, on MT Tamborine reverse the addiction of the hungry ghost virus? Can the love and goodwill generated from this event make a difference? I think so. But I have always been a champion of the common person and the power of love! Put lots of thought into what a good, abundant life means to you. I’d start with good health, love, money honestly earned, sunlight, laughter, trees, flowers, children, pets, friends, community and beautiful clean, simple food. It should be a fabulous afternoon! Can’t wait! Love and namaste Margot
