Rebirthing Breathwork Workshop – with Margot Wagner

BY YOGA UNDER THE BODHI TREE

About this event

The 1st workshop was such a success that I’ve been asked to offer a 2nd Rebirthing Breathwork (RB) Workshop before the end- of- year- busyness consumes us all. If you missed out first time, dive in while you can. Numbers are limited.

So, what is this Breathwork and why is it such a great compliment to a yogic lifestyle or just an awake lifestyle? Breathwork is different to yogic breathing (pranayama). Pranayama is designed to open your energetic channels, and it calms the body. Breathwork was designed by somatic psychologists, and the aim is to wake up suppressed emotions, memories, and trauma so that these energetic burdens can leave the physical body and leave the practitioner feeling lighter, free, more embodied, and released from long held subconscious patterns.

But why would we want to stir up this trauma? I’m just fine. Let sleeping dogs lie. You have a point. The: ignore, lock and suppress technique works pretty well for years, until something breaks. A serious illness, a life trauma (retrenchment, divorce, death, estrangement from kids) or maybe you have woken up. Did you know that traumatised people are more vulnerable to manipulation, coercion and bullying by agencies stronger than them and they find it hard to step into their own sovereignty? They aren’t weaker than anyone else. They are just fighting an internal, hidden war and they have less reserves to resist the societal pressures that other, energetically freer people could.

And all of us have a legacy of trauma: Two world wars, genocides, massacres, civil wars as well as famines, droughts, and human exploitation. We all have parents and grandparents who fought and survived these horrors. Add dysfunctional childhoods, school systems and workplaces, thus every person has their own burden of trauma.

Studies of Holocaust survivors proved that the victims of the Holocaust include the children and grandchildren of the survivors. If the survivors never speak of, or process those horrors, the children of such families were often too frightened to imagine what could have led to such constriction and lifelessness in their parents. They were traumatised by these numb, absent parents.

The big memories and trauma are from birth to the first 5 years. These set up neural pathways in your brain which are evident in your life choices, your mental and physical health and the way you survive stress. RB is a safe technique to gently physically release trauma and make sense of the memories and emotions that arise. I’ll be supporting you the whole way and help you make sense of what you are releasing. Its huge, its cathartic, its safe, its life changing! I hope you can join us. Contact me if you’d like to reserve a spot.

Love and namaste Margot
